Nausea

Nausea

Nausea is the feeling of wanting to vomit or feeling sick to your stomach. It’s not the same as actually throwing up; it’s that uncomfortable sensation that something is wrong in your stomach.

Nausea can be caused by many things, such as:

  • Eating too much or too quickly
  • Motion sickness (like feeling dizzy in a car or on a boat)
  • Infections (like the flu or food poisoning)
  • Stress or anxiety
  • Certain medications

When you’re nauseous, you might also feel weak, dizzy, or have a loss of appetite. Sometimes, resting, drinking clear fluids, or eating bland foods can help ease the feeling. If nausea lasts a long time or is very severe, it’s a good idea to see a doctor.
